Ashura (Noah’s Pudding) Celebration at Middleton Public Library
By Dialogue International • Feb 2nd, 2008 • Category: EventWe celebrated Ashura Day with our guests at Middleton Public Library. We served Ashura (Noah’s Pudding).
Noah’s pudding (Ashura), which is a recipe as old as the story of Prophet Noah, is shared among neighbors and friends in Turkey as a sign of mutual love and respect within the community. People prepare the pudding at home and handout bowls of it to their neighbors. The pudding is traditionally prepared to commemorate Prophet Noah’s deliverance from the flood.
