Isthmus Conversation: Conversation Between Islam & Christianity

A few DI members particiapted a panel titled “Isthmus Conversation: Conversation Between Islam & Christianity” at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Madison. The panel was moderated by Rev. Charles Werth, pastor at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Those were topics in the panel.

  • Describe the Islamic/Christian understanding of the importance of God.
  • If God is greater than anything that can be thought, how then can we as human beings talk about God? (This topic is intended to take us into the area of God’s revelation of his will to humanity.)
  • What is the condition of man and woman by birth, and how does this affect the relationship between God and humanity?
  • Why is there evil and suffering in the world?
  • How should you live according to the tenets of Islam/Christianity?
  • How do you envision instructing children in the tenets of your faith?
  • Describe the nature of male/female relationships according to Islam/Christianity.
  • What does Islam/Christianity have to say about helping the poor, the orphan, those treated unjustly?
  • Are there areas where you see Muslims and Christians can cooperate in serving our neighbors?
