Uli Schamiloglu is a Professor of Turkic & Central Eurasian Studies at Department of Languages and Cultures of Asia at UW-Madison. He is the chair of the Central Asian Studies Program and the associate director of the Center for Middle East Studies.

From ADAM to MUHAMMAD “The Stories of Prophet”
This lecture discussed Rabghuzi’s Qisas ül-enbiya’ (composed in 1310 in Central Asia ), a collection of stories concerning the prophets of the Abrahamic tradition beginning with Adam and Eve and culminating in the life of the Prophet Muhammad and his Companions. It was a very important devotional text and after 1800 this work became the most popular printed book among the Muslims of the Russian Empire.
